Silverwood
$10,500

Silverwood is a remarkable and authentic Late Victorian era (circa 1895) engagement ring that is an absolute favorite here at Trumpet & Horn! This gorgeous platinum topped 18k yellow gold vintage ring radiates warm in color, centering an exquisite 1.24ct EGL certified Old European Cut diamond graded O-P color and VS1 clarity. The ring is surrounded by a delicate halo of twelve Single Cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.50ct in weight. Each halo accent stone is delicately set between a scalloped platinum border. The contrast between the champagne colored center diamond and the whiter Single Cut diamonds really makes this ring a wow piece! Silverwood is finished with beautiful scrolling open metal work throughout the basket. This ring is currently a size 5 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. Please contact our concierge with sizing questions.

The Victorian Period was named for Queen Victoria, who inherited the throne of England in 1837 when she was only 18 years old. Victoria was young, beautiful, and loved immensely by her subjects. Her tastes in fashion and jewelry were highly regarded and inspired the Victorian jewelry trends of the time. Queen Victoria was married in 1840, and she wore a snake motif ring (a symbol of eternal love at the time) set with her birthstone, a brilliant green emerald, as her engagement ring. In the Victorian era, it was very common for birthstones to be used instead of diamonds for engagement rings. After Victoria’s beloved Albert passed away in 1861, the queen went into the customary mourning period for 18 months, which inspired the gold lockets and black jet pieces commonly seen in this period.

Banningham
$5,900

Banningham is a sweet and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1915) platinum engagement ring. This lovey solitaire ring centers a 1.05ct EGL certified Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond graded I color and SI2 clarity. The antique diamond is nestled inside a simple eight prong setting and is further adorned by a crown-like basket detailed with intricate open metal work. Banningham is finished with a simple platinum shank detailed with fluting on each shoulder. The ring is currently a size 5.75 and can be sized to fit.

During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
