Formosa
$9,950

Formosa is a delicate and authentic Edwardian era (circa 1915) platinum ring centering a bezel set antique diamond. This lovely rectangular pillow-like diamond is accompanied by an EGL certificate stating the 1.37cts Old Mine Cushion Brilliant Cut diamond is graded H color and VS1 clarity. A delicate row of six Rose Cut diamonds line the remarkably delicate shoulders, totaling approximately 0.04ct in weight. Formosa's low profile and unusual cushion cut diamond make this antique ring truly special. It is currently a size 5.25 and can be sized to fit.

During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
