TGIF, vintage lovers! This week we are featuring five of our favorite vintage Art Deco rings from the Trumpet & Horn collection. The Art Deco era extended from about 1915-1935 and is one of the most distinctive periods in the history of jewelry. When World War I began, young men were shipped off to war and women stepped in to take on their roles in the workplace. This important contribution to the American economy gave women independence and lead to women's suffrage and empowerment. When the war was over, the newly emancipated females helped usher in the Roaring Twenties, celebrating life with grandeur. Art deco jewelry is characterized by bold, geometric designs with strong straight lines. Jewelry was dominated primarily by diamonds, but colored gemstones added splashes of color to emphasize splendor.
