Today we are featuring five of our favorite vintage blue sapphire engagement rings. We absolutely LOVE it when sapphires are included in engagement rings! Sapphires offer an awesome & affordable alternative to the traditional diamond engagement ring. When sapphires come out of the ground, about 98% of them are actually brown. A process of heating the stone gives them their vibrant blue, green, yellow or pink hues. Heating sapphires is a consumer-accepted process, although when buying a sapphire, the customer should always be informed of whether the ring is heated. If you come across a sapphire engagement ring with an unheated stone (like our show-stopping Huntington!), you're definitely in the presence of something very rare!
