Cordova is a gorgeous Belle Epoque sapphire and diamond vertically set three-stone ring. Handcrafted in France circa 1910, this beautiful ring features a center Cushion Cut sapphire that weighs approximately 0.85ct. The natural blue sapphire is flanked by two Old European Cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.00ctw and graded G color and VS clarity. Cordova is further accented by eight mixed antique cut diamonds on the shoulders totaling 0.25ctw total approximate weight, graded G-H color and VS clarity. The beautifully unique platinum-topped 18k yellow gold ring is finished with a grooved 18k rose gold shank that was likely added later in life with French hallmarks.

HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
