Brookings is a stunning and authentic Late Victorian (circa 1890) ring made from platinum topped 18k yellow gold. A newer 18k yellow gold shank was later added, most likely during the 1960's. Brookings centers a lovely cornflower blue Round faceted 1.73ct sapphire accompanied with a Guild Laboratories certificate stating the sapphire is Unheated with Ceylon origin. This pretty ring is further designed with a halo of ten gleaming Old Mine Cut diamonds totaling approximately 1.00ct. The ring is currently a size 7.5 and can be sized to fit.

HISTORY
Much of the popular Victorian jewelry was inspired by Queen Victoria’s style. For example, birthstones were popular in engagement rings because Victoria wore hers with an emerald. The Victorian era is further divided into Early (1837–1860), Mid (1860–1885), and Late (1890–1901) periods, reflecting changes in Victoria’s life and personal style. Early and late Victorian period jewelry is often described as having a romantic look, but mid-Victorian style is darker and more sentimental, reflecting Victoria’s personal period of mourning after the loss of her husband and mother.
