Kennoway

sold out!

Kennoway is beautiful and authentic Edwardian era (cica 1915) sapphire and diamond ring that was most likely made in Eastern Europe. The original top of the ring was made in 9k white gold and silver and centers a four-prong set 2.16ct Round Cut light purplish-blue sapphire. The center stone is accompanied by a Guild Laboratories Certificate stating the stone is heated with Ceylon origin. A delicate halo of fourteen Old Mine Cut diamonds delightfully enhance the beauty of the main center sapphire, totaling approximately 0.60ct. The ring is finished with a 14k white gold shank that was most likely replaced in the 1930's. Kennoway is currently a size 6.5 and can be sized to fit most ring sizes. HISTORY
During the Edwardian period, technological advances caused major changes in the way that jewelry was manufactured. Jewelers were finally able to work with platinum, which allowed for more intricate and detailed pieces. Delicate settings with lots of diamonds were especially popular during this time, though we also see a number of different colored stones, including sapphires, aquamarines, and rare electric green demantoid garnets.
